who’s who

phil sweetingHi!  I’m Phil Sweeting and I have the privilege of being the minister at Grace Church Wrecclesham (and assistant minister at Farnham Baptist Church).  I first encountered Jesus in 1996 when I was a Law student and I have been a work in progress ever since.

I’m married to Katie and have three young children – Lily, Lottie & Bertie.  I joined Farnham Baptist Church in 2009 and have been delighted to be part of the team involved in starting this new congregation since we first started talking about it in 2010.

When time permits I love music, magic and the odd glass of merlot!  I blog every now and again at TheVirtualWord.

Tim, together with wife Sarah lead one of our mid-week small groups. They have four young children and are also foster parents. Sarah is involved with youth work, teaching our Feed group and Tim makes our worship even more lively with the help of his bongo drums.
They both love diving into the Bible and unpacking the riches of God’s character and His story.

russellBill and Joy lead our other mid-week small group. Bill has a slightly unhealthy interest in mapping which has been put to good use in planning the monthly meetings of our Curry Club. Joy is on a mission to persuade Phil of the merits of cats, having recently acquired Russell, a ginger tom whose antics are a constant distraction to the group. Bill came to faith while at university on 29th December 1998; Joy when she was in her teens. Bill’s ideal day would be to visit a cheesecake factory and fall in a vat while Joy’s would involve tea, a good book and a warm fire.
